The Bulgarian “My Europe” workshop is under the patronage of Yordanka Fandakova. On behalf the Mayor of Sofia, Dr. Todor Chobanov (Deputy Minister of Culture) opened the workshop on 25 April 2012 at the premises of our corporate partner OMV Bulgaria, and Teodora Georgieva (CEO OMV Bulgaria) welcomed the young people.

Students from First English Language High School, German Language High School and Sofia School of Mathematics had the chance to discuss European affairs with experts from business and politics and reflected on the role of Bulgaria in Europe. Among the experts were: Prof. Dr. Manfred Pohl (Chairman of the Institute for Corporate Culture Affairs), Dr. Solomon Passy (President and Founder of the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs), Prof. Dr. Anna Krasteva (Director of the Department of Political Sciences, New Bulgarian University), Yoanna Ilieva on behalf of Monika Pananyotova (Chairwoman of the EU Affairs Committee, National Assembly) and Mariyana Hamanova (Managing Director, Cleantech Bulgaria).

On the second day of the workshop, Konstantin Vulkov (Program Director, Darik Radio) and Krasimira Temelkova (Standart) shared their knowlegde of news editing with the students, and Elitsa Zlateva of euinside, an online media, focused on EU affairs and gave special advice on European journalism.
